Turntables and the Live-Mixed Party (Leave Your iPod at Home!)WHAT I DO
Given that I got my start as a club DJ, my wedding performances embrace the singular quality of live turntable mixing, in which I blend everything from:
- Indie pop/rock;
- Motown;
- Party hip-hop;
- Classic rock;
- Top 40;
- Electronic;
- Country;
- 80's pop/new wave; and more.
Collaborating with my clients from the very beginning, each set is custom-built with songs that reflect their unique tastes and vision for the evening. Using these tastes as a jumping-off point, the rest of my set plays off of the crowd; I fashion smooth blends across several generations of music that keep guests dancing without lowering the bar. My hope is that I'll be hired to match my expertise with your vision, not to serve as just another "push-play" DJ that can be found in Yellow Pages across the country -- your big day deserves more!

As an MC, I won't be competing for the spotlight by chit-chatting or practicing my latest jokes on the mic. After all, your wedding day is solely about you and your new mate, so it's important to me that you two be the stars of the show; I'll chime in just enough to keep the event running smoothly.

A Lifelong Obsession Playing Out on Your Wedding DayABOUT ME
Coming from a background long-immersed in music, I've traveled the country and recorded with various bands, and in recent years have turned my attention to DJ performances primarily throughout the Southeast. Weddings, specifically, thrive on two things I adore: Community and having a really great time with music.
I don't throw around the word "obsession" lightly; when it comes to my relationship with music, however, it's the only descriptor that fits. As long as I can remember, I've been saving lunch money for records and still need absolutely no prodding to drive thousands of miles to see one of my favorite bands. I've always loved making mixes for friends and finding any reason to turn a conversation towards music -- at parties, I'm usually the guy who can't keep his eye off of the host record collection or the stereo. There is an innate drive in me to set life to music.
Being married myself -- very fortunately I might add -- to a lovely girl from Montréal, I know first-hand the importance of a well-conceived and executed wedding.
Give me a shout to discuss how we can collaborate on the party you've always envisioned.
Thanks very much for stopping by,
